Silpa Citra Sikshanam (sculpture and sketches)

Silpa Citra Sikshanam is a comprehensive online course in traditional Indian sculpture and sketching, open to those aged 12+.

• Foundation course= 3 levels
• 12 sessions per level
• Session duration= 1 hour
• Tutoring through online teaching tools
• All sessions recorded and links shared with registered participants

Course content= Theory teaches the core concepts of Śilpaśastra and uniqueness, symbolism and norms and gives glimpses into Śilpaśāstra texts.

Practical lessons teach basics of traditional sculptural sketching and carving, using online teaching tools. Topics covered - iconography, symbolisms, temple designs, borders, pillars, towers, etc,. tālamānam (anatomy measurements) of human, animal and birds and devatas, various āgamic postures, āyudhas (weapons), ābharaṇam (ornaments) vāhanas (vehicles) and parivāragaṇas (associated murtis of devatās) and others, all as per Śilpa-śāstra texts
